Somersett Town Center's Two Newest Restaurants Share the Same Owner

Steve Uricchio calls his food "upscale pub cuisine." That description is doing more work than it sounds like, because the same phrase now explains two restaurants in Somersett Town Center instead of one.

If you walked through Town Center a year and a half ago, you'd have found Sakana Sushi anchoring the middle of the strip, Peavine Tavern doing double duty as the neighborhood's live-music bar, and Gambi's serving red-sauce Italian a few doors down. Peavine closed in the fall of 2024. Gambi's and its neighbor, The Bones Bar, followed not long after. For most of 2024 and part of 2025, two of Town Center's storefronts sat empty, which is the kind of thing residents notice every time they park for sushi and walk past the dark windows next door.

Pine Ridge Tavern opened in the old Peavine space on July 8, 2025. Then this summer, Stellar's Lounge & Grill opened in the old Gambi's and Bones Bar footprint, a few doors down. Both belong to the same operator. That single fact changes how the whole story reads.

What Actually Replaced Peavine

Pine Ridge Tavern sits at 7665 Town Square Lane, in the same slot Peavine Tavern occupied for years. Steve Uricchio owns it with his wife Stephanie, and their menu leans into pizza, salads, burgers, and sandwiches with what Uricchio describes as an emphasis on elevated appetizers. It reads as a tavern that grew up a little: still a place to watch a game or grab a burger after nine holes, but with a kitchen doing more than the category usually asks for.

The Uricchios aren't outside operators parachuting into a market study. They relocated to Reno two years ago and live in Somersett, about two miles from the restaurant's front door. Steve opened his first restaurant in Bakersfield in 1995 and has since opened more than 25 restaurants, most of them inside casinos across the west. Pine Ridge Tavern is the first one that's his own neighborhood spot rather than someone else's property.

The Sequel Next Door

Stellar's Lounge & Grill sits at 7665 Town Square Lane, Suite 104, in the space Gambi's and The Bones Bar left behind. It's billed as an "elevated gaming experience," pairing exceptional cuisine and handcrafted cocktails with a more formal continental menu than what's next door.

The two restaurants operate under one company, BDS Town Square Reno LLC, which Uricchio owns alongside two Las Vegas-based partners, Bruce Familian and David Nolan. The original plan, laid out when Pine Ridge Tavern opened, was to have Stellar's running by September of that same year. It landed later than that target, but the sequencing tells you something: Pine Ridge Tavern wasn't a standalone bet. It was the first half of a plan for the whole stretch of storefronts, tested casual before it went formal.

Why the Guides You'll Find Online Are Wrong

Search for restaurants in Somersett tonight and a fair number of the results still describe Gambi's as the neighborhood's Italian spot and Peavine Taphouse as the place with live music. Neither is accurate anymore. General neighborhood guides get built once and rarely get rebuilt, so they keep repeating a lineup that stopped existing over a year ago.

The current lineup, as it actually stands:

  • Sakana Sushi Bar & Restaurant, the all-you-can-eat sushi spot that's held its spot in the middle of Town Center the whole time
  • Pine Ridge Tavern, in Peavine's old space, since July 2025
  • Stellar's Lounge & Grill, in Gambi's old space, since this summer
  • The Grille at Somersett Golf & Country Club, the clubhouse restaurant off Championship Trail, serving lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday with breakfast on weekends. Reviewers who've eaten there note you don't need a club membership to get a table, and the room looks out over a course Tom Kite designed at 7,252 yards.

That's four kitchens within a few minutes of most Somersett driveways, and two of them are new enough that plenty of longtime residents haven't tried either yet.

The Calendar Caught Up With the Storefronts

The Town Center's dining refresh landed in the same year the Somersett Owners Association leaned harder into its own events calendar, and the two threads run parallel more than they intersect.

The fall MOG event happened this past Saturday, September 26, on the first hole of Canyon Nine, with live music from local favorite Gwen in Doubt featuring Tamara McLean and a lineup of food trucks. It's the kind of evening that used to mean driving somewhere for dinner first. Now it means residents can walk from a Stellar's cocktail to a golf-course lawn concert without getting back in the car.

The next scheduled community event is the final Community-Wide Garage Sale of 2026, set for Saturday, October 3, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. It's not a food event, but it's the kind of Saturday morning that ends with people hungry and standing thirty seconds from four restaurant doors instead of one.

The Club at Town Center still runs its resident-staffed Happy Hour at the Gathering Bar most Thursdays through Saturdays starting around 4 p.m., which has been part of the rhythm here regardless of what's happening two doors down at Pine Ridge or Stellar's. That consistency is part of why the new restaurants feel like an addition to the pattern rather than a replacement of it.

What This Actually Tells You About Town Center

The two vacancies that sat empty longest weren't filled by two separate operators competing for the same regulars. They were filled by one couple who live in the neighborhood, running a casual room and a formal room as one project with a shared kitchen relationship. That's a different kind of commitment than a single restaurant opening on its own, and it's worth knowing if you've been putting off trying either one because you weren't sure how permanent they'd turn out to be.

If you've been meaning to check out Pine Ridge Tavern or give Stellar's a try, the fact that they're run by neighbors who bet on both spaces at once is as good a reason as any to go this week instead of waiting for the guides to catch up.

If you're thinking about what a move into or out of Somersett might look like down the road, Smith Real Estate Group knows this neighborhood's rhythm well enough to talk through it whenever you're ready.
